One of the iconic music composers and singers in Bollywood, AR Rahman, came forward and spoke about a ‘gang’ working against him and not letting him create music for Bollywood movies.
The Oscar-winning musician is currently in the limelight for composing the music of ‘Dil Bechara.’ The movie has got extremely great attention due to the late actor (Sushant Singh Rajput). Regarding the movie music, the award-winning musician was interviewed by Radio Mirchi where Rahman said that when Mukesh Chhabra (Director of Dil Bechara) came to him for the music composition for the movie, Mukesh told Rahman that there are a lot of people in the industry who are not happy with his (Mukesh Chhabra) decision of working with him (AR Rahman).
The musician stated that Mukesh further said that he wants to work for the audience and not the industry, so that’s why he approached him.
Continuing his thoughts on this, Rahman said- “I don’t say no to good movies, but I think there is a gang, which, due to misunderstandings, is spreading some false rumors. When Mukesh Chhabra came to me, I gave him four songs in two days. He told me, ‘Sir, how many people said don’t go, don’t go to him (AR Rahman) and they told me stories after stories.’ I heard that, and I realized, yeah, okay, now I understand why I am doing less (work in Hindi films) and why the good movies are not coming to me. I am doing dark movies, because there is a whole gang working against me, without them knowing that they are doing harm.” Source: India.com.
Further, he added- “People are expecting me to do stuff, but there is another gang of people preventing that from happening. It is fine because I believe in destiny, and I believe that everything comes from God. So, I am taking my movies and doing my other stuff. But all of you are welcome to come to me. Make beautiful movies, and you are welcome to come to me,” Source: India.com.
