The Big Three - Ambani, Tata, and Mahindra might come together for National Hydrogen Mission

Hydrogen is one of the most abundant elements available on Earth and India is looking forward to utilizing the resource to its fullest potential. The idea was proposed during the Financial Budget discussion of FY21. Finance Minister, Nirmala Seetharaman, announced the National Hydrogen Mission during the Budget 2021-2022 announcement. The main objective is to productively utilize the element and take up initiatives to make this possible.

Some of the most hailed companies of India - reliance, Tata and Mahindras might come on board on this as no one company or organization is capable of making this dream come true. A true coalition of the leading companies can hasten the work and also show some beneficial results. This could be a similar body to the European Hydrogen Council.

Along with the Indian companies, there is a high possibility to include other companies that have already invested in the Hydrogen ventures of countries like New Zealand. The main aspect of importance here is to make the project in sync with the Indian demands and Indian population. Companies like Linde and Air Products are already in India and will play a very crucial role in setting up the gas infrastructures and storage devices within the country.

The most feasible way to generate Hydrogen in India is through Natural Gas. The other option of Water is ruled out because of the scarcity of the resource. Hydrogen can be used as the most reliable resource for fuelling spaceships and other automobiles. While the country can borrow and get inspired by the blueprints of other countries, the internal investments must come from collaboration and coalition.

If the project picks up, there are high chances that Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata, and Anand Mahindra would take a keen interest in making their own contribution to the initiative’s development. This also happens to be one of the most cashable initiatives for the trio.

India also needs automobiles that can run and function with Hydrogen, which is a new concept for petrol and diesel users. If Tesla introduces Electric cars within the country, Hydrogen-powered automobiles will be the next milestone to reach.
