Chadwick Boseman died with no will; Wife Seeks to Administer estate

The actor known as “Black Panther” died at the age of 43 in August, his wife is trying to be appointed administrator of the estate of Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman was battling with colon cancer for more than four years and died on August 28th without a will, with an estate estimate value of $938,500, as per the papers submitted on Thursday in the Los Angeles County probate court.

Some assets are not certainly subjected to probate, so Boseman’s holdings could be more comprehensive than that amount.

In the court papers, Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward who legally goes by the name Taylor Simone Ledward proposed to be designated administrator with restricted authority over the actor’s estate.

Boseman’s family includes his wife, Simone and his parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman of Belton, who is also listed in the papers. All three were present in the Los Angeles home when he died in August. 

As per the information by the People’s magazine, Ledward and Boseman got engaged in 2019, and it was the NBA All-Star Game, their last public appearance together in February in Chicago.

He also paid tribute to her during a recognition speech at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards. He said that Simone was always by his side, and he made it a point to acknowledge her at this point of time by also expressing his love.

Ryan Coogler, director of “Black Panther” singled out Simone Ledward in a moving tribute to Chadwick Boseman after his demise.

He began his message by giving his feelings out by sharing instances and offering his condolences to the family and explicitly mentioned his wife in the end.

Chadwick Boseman is known for his box office blockbuster and oscar-nominated “Black Panther” where he was the lead character.
