Dil Bechara Actress Swastika Mukherjee Exposes Cyberbullies

Swastika Mukherjee urges people not to remain silent on the abuses and death threats given through social media platforms. She said and advised people to come up and speak about such open threats fiercely. 

On Friday, the actress wrote a note on her Instagram and said not to remain silent on the acid attack, rape, and death threats are given openly on social media. Also, she shared her personal experience of receiving rape and death threats after a fake media report was released against her. 

She wrote- “On June 26, days after my co-actor in the upcoming movie Dil Bechara Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death, there was a media report which falsely quoted me as saying that suicides are now in fashion. Following this, there were fierce online attacks on me, including rape and death threats,” Source: Instagram. 

She exposed the person writing fake articles, and now the accused has been booked by the Kolkata Cyber Crime department. The person who gave her open “acid attack and rape threats based on this fake news has been arrested. Both of them have surrendered in court.” Source: Indian Express. 

Her note reads- “I would like to inform you that the person behind the fake news posted on www.smritinews.in, Shuvam Chakraborty from Galsi, Bardhaman, Bengal, has been arrested by the Kolkata Cyber Crime Department. ” Source: Instagram. 

Mukherjee captioned the note with- “Cyber bullying is not acceptable. Rape threats, acid attack threats are heinous crime & it needs to be addressed. It’s time people think before attacking someone because there will be repercussions. ‬‪Thank you @kolpolice cyber crime department for taking such prompt action.” Source: Instagram. ‬

The actress was last seen in an Amazon Prime series ‘Pataal Lok.’ Now, her next movie, ‘Dil Bechara’, is about to hit an OTT platform ‘Hotstar’ on July 24, 2020.
