Duke And Duchess Of Sussex To Make Shows With Netflix

Recently, the royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reached the final stage of the deal with the OTT giant Netflix to make a series of shows. As per reports, the couple can be seen in a few of them. 

The royal couple said- “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Source: BBC. 

Further, they added- “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us,” Source: BBC. 

On this, the Chief of Netflix, Ted Sarandos, said that he was “incredibly proud” that the royal couple had made the company “their creative home”. Source: BBC. 

Reports disclose that this deal has been signed for a couple of years which encompasses docu-series, documentaries, scripted shows, feature films and programs on children. 

The royal couple released a statement reading- “Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple has allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection,” Source: BBC. 

They continued and stated- “Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.” Source: BBC. 

The royal pair said that they were pleased to work with Netflix, saying its “unprecedented reach” would “help us share impactful content that unlocks action”. Source: BBC. 

As per a report by Deadline, the decided projects are already in the development stage and includes “an innovative nature docu-series and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women”. Source: BBC.
