On Sunday, the former Indian cricketer and UP minister Chetan Chauhan, 73, died due to multiple organ failure.
Last month, the ace cricketer was found positive thus was admitted to PGI hospital in Lucknow. To continue further treatment, Chauhan was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
Soon after listening to this unfortunate news, Prime Minister Modi tweeted- “Shri Chetan Chauhan Ji distinguished himself as a wonderful cricketer and later as a diligent political leader. He made effective contributions to public service and strengthening the BJP in UP. Anguished by his passing away. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” Source: Twitter.
Former Cricket player, Virender Sehwag expressed grief on Chauhan’s demise and tweeted- “My deep condolences to Chetan Chauhan’s family and well-wishers on his passing. Om Shanti !” Source: Twitter.
Indian Skipper, Virat Kohli stated that he is shocked to hear the news and tweeted- “Shocked to hear about the passing of Shri. Chetan Chauhan Ji. May his soul rest in peace, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. 🙏” Source: Twitter.
Former Cricket Player, Anil Kumble also tweeted and expressed his feelings on Chauhan’s death- “Saddened to hear the passing of Chetan Chauhan. Fondly remember our conversations on the 2007/8 tour of Australia. Heartfelt condolences to his family. 🙏🏽” Source: Twitter.
Gautam Gambhir, Former Indian Cricket used his Twitter account to showcase his feelings on this news and wrote- “Saddened to hear about the demise of Chetan Chauhan Ji. Chauhan played 40 test matches for India, scored 2084 runs and played 7 ODIs. The ace player has been survived by his wife and son, Vinayak.
At present, he was managing Home Guards, Sainik Welfare, Civil Security, and PRD in the UP cabinet.
