Indian Army Gets ‘Bharat’ Drones to Keep a Watch on Indo-China Borders

Promoting the ‘vocal for local’ slogan, the Indian Army is all set to use the home ground manufactured ‘Bharat’ drones, which will be used for surveillance on and around the Indo-China border.

DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) delivered the Bharat’ drones to carry thorough monitoring practices on the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh.

The Indo-China border in Eastern Ladakh has been witnessing highly tense circumstances from 15th June when the Chinese army personnel killed more than 20 soldiers. Since then, both the nations have been keeping a close watch on each other’s army and political actions.

On this, India’s defense sources told ANI- “The Indian Army requires drones for accurate surveillance in the ongoing dispute in the Eastern Ladakh area. For this requirement, the DRDO has provided the Bharat drones to it,” Source: Gadgets NDTV.

The ‘Bharat’ drones have been manufactured by the Chandigarh-based laboratory of DRDO.

Further, DRDO officials said- “World’s most agile and lightest Surveillance drone. Indigenously developed by the DRDO. Small yet powerful drone works autonomously at any location with great accuracy. The unibody biomimetic design with advance release technology is a lethal combination for surveillance missions” Source: Gadgets NDTV.

To give accurate results, the Bharat drones have been infused with AI (artificial intelligence) to rectify friends and foes to take action accordingly. Also, these small drones come with the potential of survival in difficult weather conditions like extreme cold. This feature has been embedded, keeping the usual temperature of Eastern Ladakh, India, in mind.

Bharat drones will be able to provide real-time video clippings throughout day and night. These drones have been incorporated with advanced night vision capabilities to detect human beings hidden behind forests.
