As a part of the Central Government’s initiative ‘Vande Bharat Mission,’ the Indian workers having valid visas can travel to UAE. This became possible after the UAE has established individual bilateral air bubbles with the Emirates. The Air Bubble is in collaboration with the UAE till August 31 only.
Earlier, only Indian workers with residency visas were allowed to travel to the UAE.
This news will prove to be a sigh of relief for all the Indian workers who have been waiting for the travel restrictions to lift up and to pursue their jobs in foreign lands. Keeping all the measures in mind, the central government has started to ease the travel restrictions in the unlock phase.
Under the ‘Air Bubble’ scheme with UAE, India is planning to involve 16 Indian cities to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, UAE.
Disclosing further details about this travel scheme, Pavan Kapoor, Indian Ambassador to UAE, said that Indian nationals carrying any sort of valid UAE visa could travel to the Arab country easily.
He used his Twitter account to make this announcement and tweeted- “Very pleased to see the @MoCA_GoI notification this evening as per which both Indian & UAE airlines can now carry any Indian national holding any type of valid UAE visa from India to UAE! @IndembAbuDhabi @cgidubai @MoFAICUAE,” Source: Twitter.
However, the operations of regular passenger flights have been restricted between India and UAE from the last five months due to the corona pandemic, India is still running a special flight under ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to bring back nationals stuck in other countries during the lockdown in UAE.
As per the reports, flight tickets booking has opened from Tuesday. With this, people will be able to travel from August 16 to 31 under the special scheme.
