It’s the IPL season and all eyeballs are turned towards the players, while everyone is rooting strongly for their favorite teams. Sunrisers – Hyderabad player, Vijay Shankar had a splendid game against Rajasthan Royals on 22nd October and finished the game with a boundary – leaving at 52 (51) not OUT.

The all-rounder proved to be the perfect partner for Manish Pandey and the duo sweated it out on the field because the game is a ‘must-win’ for the Hyderabad team. On a personal level, it was also important for Vijay to do well because he hasn’t given a whistling performance ever since 2018. This was his first half-century since the past two IPL sessions. Seems like the lad is very happy about it.

Vijay Shankar stated that the game was a ‘Do or Die’ situation for the team and everyone made a mental decision on making it a win. He said the half-century means a lot to him and will be a major factor to boost his confidence. Not just the team, it was also a ‘Do or Die’ situation for the all-rounder himself, because he failed to make wonders happen with his bat during the last years. It is the needed push towards several other satisfactory performances.

On the bowling front, he thwarted the winning attempts of Rajasthan Royals star player, Jos Buttler, sending him back at 9 runs. In the three overs that Shanker bowled, he only gave 15 runs to the other team.

Vijay Shankar stated that he wanted to reduce the pressure building p on Manish Pandey’s shoulders and the pair did a great job on the field. The 140 run partnership happens to be the first 100-plus stand by of two Indian players ever since SRH stepped into the franchise in 2013.

The win definitely sent SRH up the charts and now it secured the 5h position. They have 8 points from the 10 games they played so far, keeping their chances of playoffs still a possibility.
