Netizens Call for #BoycottNetflix After Watching ‘Krishna And His Leela’

Netflix lovers lash out on ‘Krishna and His Leela’ for hurting religious sentiments. 

Looks like ‘Netflix India’ has dragged itself into huge trouble after releasing ‘Krishna and His Leela.’ This movie started streaming recently on OTT mediums. As per some media reports, the protagonist ‘Krishna’ has been shown physically intimate with several women in the movie, and one of them is ‘Radha.’ Both ‘Krishna’ and ‘Radha’ are the names of Hindu deities that have triggered the netizens. 

Soon after the angered protest against this movie, #BoycottNetflix started trending on Twitter. Along with ‘Krishna and His Leela,’ the netizens lashed out on other web series and movies streaming on the OTT platform and referred to them as Hinduphobic. To let the public pay attention to this protest, people used unique memes too. 

About ‘Krishna and His Leela’

The movie has been produced by actor Rana Daggubati, who has been one of the remarkable actors in Bahubali. Other producers of the movie are- Sanjay Reddy, Suresh Productions, and Viacom18 Pictures. 

The story revolves around the main character ‘Krishna’ played by Siddu Jonnalagadda. The actor has been seen romancing multiple female stars, including- Seerta Kapoor, Shraddha Sirnath, and Shalini Vadnikatti. Earlier, the unique style of promoting this movie stole everyone’s heart and attention. However, in the end, the movie was released without any prior announcements. 

During the movie promotions, a tagline “Based on True Rumours” was often used to grab everyone’s attention. Sricharan Pakala has given the music and background sounds of the film while the cinematography has been taken care of by Shaneil Deo. 

So far, Netflix India has not taken any step in this outrageous protest.
