PM Modi to Lay Foundation Stone for Ayodhya Ram Mandir

India is all set to witness a historical moment today in the afternoon when Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. 

After a historic win in November 2019, Supreme Court gave its nod to the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This place has been witnessing political rivalries as Babri Masjid was standing tall till December 6, 1992. 

After twenty-eight years of Babri Masjid demolition by Kar Sevaks, Prime Minister Modi made efforts to get a grand temple built where Lord Ram was born. 

Reports say there will be around 175 esteemed guests, including the audience of 135 is invited to attend the historic ceremony. The yoga guru, Ramdev, is one of the VIP guests to be attending the stone foundation ceremony. Ramdev visited the Hanuman Garhi temple immediately after landing in Ayodhya on Wednesday morning. He said- “This day (August 5) is historical, and generations will remember the day with great pride. A new history is being written in India, and we should celebrate the day.” Source: Times of India. 

To attend the auspicious occasion, UP CM, Yogi Adityanath, has left for Ayodhya at 9:35 A.M.

Iqbal Ansari is also invited to be present on occasion. Ansari is one of those seven litigants from the Muslim side who stood for Babri Masjid title suit. 

Alok Kumar, VHP working president, said that the commencement of Ram Mandir construction wouldn’t be a full stop in itself. He said there are a lot more goals ahead to establish “Ram Rajya” and bring “Ramatva” in Ayodhya, India. 

“There was no poverty and illness during the reign of Ram. Ramatva will descend by way of a harmonious society based on equality, where every person will be treated with dignity,” He added. Source: Times of India.
