On Tuesday, Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State, said that he is not convinced with the U.S. presidential election and made a statement that there is going to be a smooth transition for a second Trump administration.
Mike Pompeo’s comment on the second Trump administration was a response to one of the reporters who was asking about if the State Department is ready to engage the new president-elect and how the transition is going and if they have started engaging in the processes.
The secretary of state firstly smirked while responding and saved the rest of his comments imprecise.
Mike Pompeo stated that the world is watching our election and what is taking place, there is going to be a recount of all the votes. After the counting is done, then we will know who is the elected president of the U.S. In reference to the transition performed by the State Department will be smooth for whoever is in the office on January 20th 2021.
Pompeo’s discourse about calculating every legitimate vote is in line with those who have rejected the election’s result, which also includes President Donald Trump himself.
Still, there is no evidence if there has been a voter fraud that has influenced the poll’s result, but many supporters of Donald Trump still believe that the Democrats had plotted the election and stole the election. Trump’s team has filed a lawsuit in the key states where it was evident that Trump was going to win.
Emily Murphy appointed by Trump as an administrator of the General Services Administration has also been refusing as well as blocking the transition of power to the Biden’s team as reported by The New York Times on November 9th.
Mitch McConnell stated that no state had certified the election results and he believes there will be an issue in at least 5 states.
