President Trump Said Someone Was Shot Around the White House

Recently, the President of the United States said that someone was shot near the White House. According to him, this happened after he came out of a news conference by a Secret Service agent. 

When reporters tried to unravel more details about the incident, Mr. Trump said everything is “very well under control.” Source: BBC. 

One of the members from this security force stepped on the stage while he was giving his remarks to the reporters and whispered something in his ear. 

At the time, Mr. Trump was heard saying, “Oh!” and “what’s happening” as he stepped out of the conference room. Soon after this, the White House was put under lockdown. 

This conference and incident happened on Monday. 

President Trump returned after nine minutes and told reporters that he believes the Secret Service had shot an armed suspect “from what I understand.” Source: BBC. 

Continuing further, Mr. Trump said it was an unusual circumstance and later praised the professionalism of the Secret Service. 

The Republican President stated- “It was a shooting outside of the White House,” and then he added- “It seems to be very well under control. But there was an actual shooting, and somebody has been taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person.” Source: BBC. 

Meanwhile, the United States Secret Service tweeted- “The Secret Service can confirm there has been an officer involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. Law enforcement officials are on the scene. More information to follow.” Source: Twitter. 

Commenting on the incident, President Trump said he didn’t know if the suspect had some ill intentions for him.
