Barack Obama, former US President, recently published his political memoir called ‘A Promised Land’ in which he has written about many leaders of his nation as well as other countries. There has been a mention of former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh and also Rahul Gandhi in his memoir, as stated by the New York Times.

Manmohan Singh had led the UPA government and was in command during Barack Obama’s decade long tenure from 2009 to 2017. According to the review by the New York Times, this is by far the best biographical sketch which includes insights, brevity and humor altogether in one.

As per the US daily, the gallery included the US President-elect Joe Biden, former Russian Premier Vladimir Putin and Secretary of Defense Bob Gates and many more.

The review also stated what has been mentioned about former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh and Secretary of Defense Bob Gates that both had a kind of impassive integrity.

New York Times had also quoted lines from the book where Obama says that Rahul Gandhi was like a student who was eager to impress the teacher with all the course work, but it was evident that he lacks the passion as well as aptitude in the subject matter. He also said that Rahul Gandhi has a nervous as well as unformed quality.

In December 2017, during Barack Obama’s last tenure, he visited India and met Rahul Gandhi when he was Vice President of the Congress. He had also tweeted with a picture with the US President Barack Obama and said that they had a fruitful chat.

There will be two parts to the memoir and ‘The Promised Land’ is the first written by the 59-year-old former US President.
