Srinagar: Despite severe corona outbreak in the valley, terrorist activities are on peak. On Sunday morning, terrorists planned to attack a CRPF (A Central Reserve Police Force) convoy in Gangoo, Pulwama.
As per reports, a Jawan was injured in a low – intensity IED blast. The attack seems to be planned as the CRPF personnel were attacked on the circular road area in Gangoo. Immediately after the blast, terrorists started constant firing to dominate the Indian force and create a sudden panic in the area.
So far, no terrorists have been arrested.
The local police and army forces cordoned off the area immediately to start the search operation.
On this, a Police Officer stated- “A minor IED blast occurred near peaks auto crossing on Pulwahma road when a CRP ROP party was being deployed for movement of their vehicles. One constable GD Praeeep Daas of 182 Bn CRP has suffered some minor injuries in his hands.” Source: NDTV
“Terrorists had planted low-intensity IED under a tree near an automobiles showroom in the Gongoo area of the district. The IED exploded just a few minutes after the convoy passed through the area.” Sources in the Police Force added. Source: NDTV
The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted- “A low-intensity #IED blast occurred at #Pulwama. #One CRPF personnel suffered #injuries in his hands and is stable. Senior officers are on the spot. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice.” Source: Twitter
On 14th February 2019, a CRPF convoy was attacked on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway by a vehicle suicide bomber at Lethpora, Pulwama, J&K. The terrorist attack resulted in the death of 40 CRPF personnel. Later, investigations found Jaish-e-Mohammed as the perpetrator of the attack.
Earlier this year, Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Moulana Masood Azhar was killed by the security forces appointed at the southern Pulwama.
